The Anhyzer Putt

I began throwing an anhyzer putt for a few reasons. Reason 1 being, my hyzer, or “straight” putts just weren’t as consistent as i would have liked. Reason 2 being, i wanted to learn to manipulate my discs to do what i wanted. After a lot of trial and error, and continued practicing, i have the following theory.

Same putter, Same throw- If you have 3 putters in your bag, and their all different, how can you really get good practice? Given this may be aimed to the more novice player, but still a good pointer.. maybe. Find a putter that you like, and buy 2 or 3. Use these three putters only. What you’re doing here is learning to throw that particular flight pattern, that disc. Throw some extra putts when you’re just playing a casual round.

Finding your Line- Here’s where things get fun. Try putting with anhyzer. You’ve got three discs, don’t be afraid to try different angles, find that line. The line that curves like a ripe breast, and swooshes back right, into the chains. Remember that line, what it looked like, what it felt like as you released it, the angle. This is your baseline. The line you need to immolate every time.

Master Manipulator- If you practice, skill will come. Simply playing catch with a friend will make you a better putter. Practice your anyhyzer throws while warming up, don’t be afraid to get some separation between you and your pal. Putting with an anhyzer will also help you to fine tune, or even discover new ways to throw even your drivers. Definitely a throw needed if you want to compete at higher levels.

I like the anhyzer putt so much because i know its always coming back. Where as a regular hyzer/straight putt, has a lot of room for error, for myself. I started with the classic soft Judge, by Dynamic Discs. The gummy plastic worked great for the lines i’m now throwing. What do ya’ll like to putt with?
